Ask to be removedTwo different things
People sometimes mix these up, so to be clear: your listing on loveSandy is one thing, and a website of your own is quite another.
Your listing on loveSandy
A card and a page on this site, with your phone number, address, opening hours, Google rating and a link to your website. It costs nothing and you don't need to do anything to have one.
A website of your own
A proper website at your own address, such as yourbusiness.co.uk, which belongs to you, not to us. Built by Trendfingers here in Sandy, for a fixed price agreed up front.
Ask about a websiteHow the directory works
We start from Google Maps, because that is where most businesses already keep their details up to date. Every month the whole directory is refreshed, so new opening hours and phone numbers come through by themselves, and businesses that have closed for good drop off.
Within each category, businesses are listed by their Google rating, with the number of reviews deciding any ties. Featured listings come first and are always clearly marked. Visitors can also show only the places that are open now, or only those with a website.
Anything you tell us directly wins over Google: a description of what you do, your list of services, opening hours checked by hand, or a request to hide your address.
Common questions
Does it cost anything to be listed?
No. Listing, claiming and updating your business is free, and always will be. There is no commission on anything.
What does "Featured" mean?
A Featured listing is shown first on its category page. Featured listings are always clearly marked, so visitors can tell them apart from the rest, which are sorted by Google rating and then by number of reviews.
Where do the details come from?
Mostly from Google Maps: the information you, or Google, have published on your Business Profile. We refresh it every month, and remove businesses that Google lists as closed for good. Anything you send us directly, such as a description, your services or corrected opening hours, takes priority.
Can you remove a bad review?
No. Ratings and reviews come from Google and we can't change them. The best answer to a poor review is a calm, helpful reply on Google, which future customers will read too.
What does the Claimed badge mean?
That the owner has asked to claim the listing and we've confirmed it through the phone number or email already on the listing. It tells customers the details come from the business itself.
How long do changes take?
Usually a few working days. Removals and claims can take a little longer, because we confirm them with the business first.
Do you sell or share my details?
No. Your private contact details are only used to deal with your request. See our privacy policy for the full picture.
